I am going to be analyzing the FTC document for “Social Networking Sites: Safety tips for tweens and teens”

http://www.onguardonline.gov/articles/0012-kids-and-socializing-online#limit

This document is very informative. The audience is apparently addressed towards the parents who have children that use social networking websites. This is resourceful for parents who want to understand and limit the access for their tween and teens who are involved in social networking.

The message was able to follow AIDA (Attention, interest, Desire, Action) model.

Attention- the documents was able encourage its audience to want to know and understand the problems and issues by using social networking sites.

Interest- the documents provides a vast amount of information for it audience to understand how this information can be of benefit.

Desire- The purpose of the document is to help adults understand common issues and consequences in social networking. It explains how detrimental social networking can be. It helps parents to help coach their kids understand the positives and negatives for their actions.

Action- all in all the documents is supposed to help parents help their children make the right decision. This stands as a guide for parents who want to help their children make the right decision. It helps parents to understand what their children are doing on these sites and help better prepare them to take control of online use. Social networking can be good for some and detrimental to others who abuse it.

Overall, I was able to be persuaded by the information provided and use it to my advantage.
