Why is blogging important?

Blogging can be important when it comes to the latest video games or console. For instance, video game enthusiasts rely on bogging for information on upcoming products. This information can help video gamers determine whether to buy the latest release or to keep the old release. Blogging can be helpful in many ways. One way is that, it can help developers understand what enthusiasts are looking for or what they are expecting to be in the newest release to increase sales revenues.

I find myself scrolling through random blogs on upcoming releases of the PlayStation 4 and the new Xbox One. I always look for the comparison chart between the two. It has been seven long years since the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 were released. Sony and Microsoft have been rivals for some time now. When Xbox first came out in November of 2001, I was a fan of it. By 2006, I was no longer an Xbox fanatic. By then, I was a fan of the PlayStation. I was a long time fan of Halo’s but that was just not enough to keep me an Xbox fan. Looking through varies blogs one day, I noticed that they had posted a comparison chart between the two. PlayStation offered FREE unlimited online subscription.

I knew I could save money if I had a PlayStation. Xbox had no competition on PlayStation besides the 1080p graphic offered with every game. They both virtually offered the same games and game play. The differences between the two were that Xbox charged for a monthly subscription for access to their downloadable and reviewable contents and news. Whereas to, PlayStation offered free monthly subscription to the same downloadable and reviewable content.

Again, Blogging can be very important to major companies who want to increase their sales revenue, advertising, and it can allow them make any last second decisions before the big release. I know people who blog about products are employees of these companies or enthusiasts. When I view these I know either they have tested these products or have done extensive research on them to blog about.
I do not think the ban of blogging would be a wise move on companies. Of course, competitors are going to find this information and use it against other each other. However, if you got a product that is like no other, than blogging should not be of concern.

Mission Statement critiqued

What are mission statements? Who reads them? Who uses them? Does it really serve a purpose? A mission statement is primarily an organizations purpose and objective. Most mission statement also includes a vision and value statement. Mission statements are tasks an organization lean towards to accomplish a common goal.

The Kansas Department of Corrections employees all work toward a common goal. The KDOC has a mission, vision, and a value statement that is promised to its communities, offenders, and employees. The mission is “to contribute to public safety and support victims of crime by exercising safe and effective containment and supervision of inmates, by managing offenders in the community, and by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens.”

This statement is straight forward. It is saying that it contributes to safety by containment of and supervision of offenders within its custody. When offenders are released they would have the wisdom in becoming law abiding citizens. Simply, the Department of Correction works towards reducing the recidivism rate by providing the resources necessary in accomplishing this goal.
The vision statement is simple. “A safer Kansas through effective correctional services.” This vision is generally saying that the Kansas Department of Corrections believes it is working towards making Kansas safer through effective services proven to reduce recidivism. The value statement states the importance that the DOC upholds.

There are six different values that are upheld. Honesty (I), Professionalism (II), Integrity (III), Personal Responsibility (IV), Respect (V), and Non-Discrimination (VI). Basically this states that “we” are going to be honest with everyone involved with the organization. Professionalism is held to the utmost standard. Integrity insures that the policy and procedures adhere to the values that are represented. Personal responsibility say that they will be held accountable for it actions. The KDOC will hold the utmost respect towards everyone. There will be no discrimination towards anyone, employee, offender, or its community.

I am impressed with these statements. These statements do not once refer to offender or it employees. It is written in first person, referring to its employees as “we.” The way it is written indicates that this organization operates as one in a team effort. These statements are well written in plain english so that anyone may understand what they mean.

Basic idea to request a letters of recommendation

It was a pleasure working as a subordinate of yours. It has been three long years since I was laid-off, but I have truly missed working in an exciting biotechnology field. It felt like I had really been a part of an organization that was making a difference every day.

Knowing that I was part of a company helping victims recover from life-threatening diseases, made it a satisfying work environment. In addition, I was awarded the Perfect Attendance award within my five years of employment. I specifically remember you telling me “Cell Genesys needs more people like you.”
